Microsoft's press conference wasn't impressive at all. Nothing big or truly innovative was presented. The only thing that somewhat interested me was the announcement of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. I never played the original and this is an opportunity to see why the Halo franchise is so popular (because playing ODST and Reach didn't help me at all).

ODST and Reach kind of suck, tbh. And that's coming from someone whose only other Halo game was just Halo 3. @_@; Though apparently the games are ~rich in story~ if you're into that, so there's no harm in playing the others.

I thought Reach was really good. ODST left a lot to be desired, but I thought Reach had a good campaign and excellent multiplayer.

Never played multiplayer on either game :\ But, both single player campaigns I found to be incredibly boring and repetitive. I think I enjoyed ODST's "story" better. It at least had all those audio files where I could figure out what the story actually was. Reach felt just like a series of events, I have no clue what the point of the game was.

I keep hearing that. But playing ODST and Reach just made me feel like an outsider to the franchise (which I was/am). For standalong side stories I was just lost and confused and generally uninterested in what was happening

I liked ODST more than Halo 3 if I'm honest. I dunno just something refreshing about not been a spartan.

I thought M$'s conference was ok, MW3 really got me excited, and I guess some other stuff looked good, but not that fussed about halo 4 or anniversary
