Sony announced the spiritual sequel to Warhawk today, and it's looking really promising. Take a look at the official site here. I never really got into Warhawk since it was multiplayer-only and I don't play too much multiplayer on the PS3 (plus it had a really steep learning curve), but this looks like it might be a fairly fresh take on a third-person shooter. Plus they're focusing a lot on single player. Gonna write up a preview of it on the site tonight or tomorrow.
I never played Warhawk but this does look pretty good. Hopefully it doesn't end up a dud like Brink though .:P
