Hell hath frozen over, and with the crashing (literally) of my laptop earlier this month, I bought a Macbook. So far I've actually really enjoyed using it for everyday stuff, but I haven't tried doing any gaming on it. I have my desktop for gaming purposes, and I'd rather not load up my Macbook's SSD with a bunch of games. But I know there are some games that are exclusive to Mac, so my question is... How many Mac owners are there on 4P? And do you do any gaming on it? If so, what?
Hi I game on my Mac, but not too much because gaming doesn't lend itself to a touch pad - you need a real mouse. So, I'll mostly play point and click things, or use a 360 controller is more involved
I use a mouse with my Macbook. I know it's sacrilegious but I don't want to wear the trackpad out anytime soon. Same reason I got a keyboard cover...I have a habit of wearing out keyboards and getting shiny keys.
You're so weird. :/ I do a little gaming on my Mac. It's pretty old so it overheats easy when I do (its the first unibody mac... I think? So the venting isn't great). I try to only play point and click, old emulator, or browser stuff. Anything else I use my desktop for, which runs Windows. I did a lot more gaming with it when I got it since before then my laptop was a netbook that could run almost literally nothing. But now I'm back to being kind of over the whole "portable gaming computer" rush and if I want to play something while lying in bed, I'll just reach for a handheld again.
You are weird :P I can't imagine anyone doing anything to those new style of keys. You don't need a cover
Apparently they're terrible about getting shiny, so I don't want that to happen anytime soon. I'm OCD about these things, especially since my old laptop's keys got worn out pretty quickly.
Keys getting a bit shiny (?) would be a much lesser evil to me than having to type with one of those awkward protectors all the time. :(
It's not that awkward. It's super-thin and fits right over the keys, so it's noticeable but not like the thick plastic ones you're probably thinking about. And in my experience, the finish wears off and they get really glossy over time (and the letters were even wearing off on my old laptop, though I suspect that's hard to do on a Macbook). That's what I mean by shiny. I haaaate it. :(
