(15 posts) Slime: The most iconic creature of the Dragon Quest series, even starring in its own spinoff series of games. (30 posts) Metroid: Titular enemy of the Metroid series. They are parasitic creatures created by the Chozo as a defense against the X Parasite. There are many forms of Metroid, and they can only be destroyed by specific means. (60 posts) Cactuar: These prickly individuals first appeared in Final Fantasy VI and have appeared in some form in every main series game since. Cactuars look docile enough, but their 1,000 and 10,000 Needles attacks can be devastating. (100 posts) Koopa: Bowser's loyal minions that can be found all throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. Jump on them to make them go into their shells, and jump on them again to send the shells spinning away. (200 posts) Pikachu: Ash Ketchum's first Pokémon, as well as the mascot of the entire series. Launches powerful lightning attacks from the electric sacs on its cheeks. (300 posts) Goron: An extremely strong, yet usually peaceful race from the Zelda games. The majority of Gorons live near Death Mountain. They enjoy rolling around and smashing into boulders. (400 posts) Alliance Soldier: The Systems Alliance represents the humans in the Mass Effect universe. Using the knowledge obtained from a Prothean data cache, their soldiers are among the best-equipped and most advanced in the universe. (500 posts) Tank: A horribly mutated victim of the Infection, Tanks are the most powerful Special Infected the survivors face in the Left 4 Dead universe. Capable of taking incredible damage, throwing vehicles and slabs of concrete, and relentlessly pursuing survivors, the Tank is a force to be reckoned with. (600 posts) Jinjo: Jinjos have been found in every game in the Banjo-Kazooie series. These small, intelligent creatures come in a variety of colors and often help Banjo and Kazooie with their exploits. (700 posts) Pac-Man: One of gaming's earliest heroes and appearing in over 30 games since, Pac-Man is a true icon. Get those pellets! Just be sure to avoid Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde! (800 posts) Sackboy: The mascot of Sony's LittleBigPlanet franchise, Sackboy is the embodiment of the "Play, Create, Share" concept. Dress him up and change his appearance however you wish - he doesn't mind! (900 posts) Yoshi: This friendly dinosaur has a long tongue which he uses to grab things and pop them back out as eggs. He has often been there to help Mario rescue Peach, and even does some babysitting on the side! (1,000 posts) Organization XIII: These mysterious hooded figures from the Kingdom Hearts series are shrouded in darkness and seem to always be right behind Sora wherever he turns. In reality, they are powerful Nobodies - beings who have lost their hearts to darkness - who seek to reclaim their hearts and become whole again. They are said to be empty vessels who cannot feel any emotion whatsoever...or can they? (1,300 posts) Assassin: The Assassin Brotherhood has fought a secret war against the evil Templars for millenia. Though they are feared by the public, in reality they fight to protect the weak, oppressed, and others who could not protect themselves. Their lives revolve around the Assassin's Creed: "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." (1,500 posts) Samus Aran: This famed intergalactic bounty hunter is the heroine of the Metroid series. Adopted and raised by the Chozo after her parents' death at the hands of the Space Pirate captain Ridley, Samus has spent her entire life fighting the Pirates and avenging her parents' death. (1,750 posts) King of All Cosmos: The father of the Prince from the Katamari series, the King of All Cosmos is the catalyst for nearly all the insanity the Prince must face. Flamboyant, forgetful, often drunk, and positively insane, the King is an unforgettable character - whether he's destroying all the stars in the sky in a drunken night or firing laser eye beams at the Prince as punishment for his failure. (2,000 posts) Sonic the Hedgehog: Sega does what Nintendon't, and throughout the 8 and 16 bit eras bitter wars were fought over whose mascot was better. Sonic's name may have been tarnished in the years since, but the super-speedy hedgehog will always remain a gaming icon. (2,250 posts) Bowser: The fire-breathing king of Koopas and Mario's main rival. Bowser has captured Peach several times only to be thwarted by Mario. He has several children, called the Koopalings, and one that seems to be his favorite - Bowser Jr. (2,500 posts) Solid Snake: The main protagonist of the Metal Gear series, Solid Snake's mastery of espionage and combat exploits have made him a legendary war hero. (3,000 posts) Master Chief: The original "armored space marine", Master Chief became the hero of the human race during the Human-Covenant war portrayed in the Halo franchise. In reality, he is John-117, a product of the SPARTAN-II project, which sought to create specially augmented elite soldiers. He's currently MIA, though perhaps Halo 4 will change that? (4,000 posts) Link: The chosen hero of the goddess, various incarnations of Link have been called upon to save Hyrule throughout the Legend of Zelda series. Whether it be Ganon, Vaati, Demise, or a host of other dark beings, Link has always faced the threat and emerged victorious.
