It's about damn time. Granted, it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but all signs are pointing to it being legit. Releasing April 3rd as a GameStop exclusive. I'm glad I didn't import it now - I've got plenty else to play in the meantime, but I'll definitely be picking it up at release.
I didn't know there was such a thing as Gamestop exclusive. Sounds kind of dumb to me. Unless Gamestop is the one handling everything but the localization in which case... I wasn't aware they did things like that. This is just weirding me out.
Some stores pay a LOT of dollar to get exclusive content (GAME in Britain had special DLC items for MW3, Robin for Arkham City, special BF3 content and has had exclusive cover artwork for a number of games) But I've never heard of a store/chain having the exclusive rights to a game itself. Still, GAME here often gets UK rights to GameStop goodies so we might well see a UK/European release in the foreseeable future.
Retailer exclusives are nothing new. The Chibi-Robo DS game was a Walmart exclusive, and I've seen Toys R Us exclusives too. You guys already got Xenoblade a few months ago though. We still have to wait until April.
Well, I now completely regret selling my Wii a few months ago, thanks to this and Skyward Sword. *Grumble grumble*
Way back when, there was a Transformers N64 game exclusive to Blockbuster. They tend to be niche titles
Chibi Robo was Walmart exclusive? I swear I've seen that at Gamestop. :s Maybe I just saw used copies. This still weirds me out. I've never heard of anything other than pre-order bonuses or different covers being retailer-exlusive.
