Has anyone else noticed a disturbing trend that games are getting announced before E3 now? Seems like Nintendo is the only company that tries to keep things under wraps until the actual show. It's annoying to me, because it means there are very few surprises during E3. Even though a lot of the games revealed aren't really BIG surprises, the little things add up - and when you know about everything beforehand and there are no surprises at all during the show, it makes for really boring/disappointing conferences. I think it's a big factor in why the last few E3s have been really disappointing.
It doesn't bother me too much. I haven't really enjoyed myself watching the conferences the last few years anyway so I'd almost rather know what's coming up so I'll have a reason to tune into an individual conference. Waiting to announce something so it's a surprise does make it more like Christmas or something when the conferences actually come but I don't think it really makes any sense considering the direction media is taking. To some extent, I don't even think big conferences like E3 make a whole lot of sense. :P Anyway, I think a lot of companies do it because games have had a tendency to get lost in the sea of news during E3, so maybe this year everyone just decided to get the jump on it and announce their stuff early so it has more press going in. Except since everyone did it, now everything is getting lost in the sea of news before E3.
