I know a lot of us have played this series - and a lot of us have fallen off the train over the years. What are your thoughts on the AC series? Favorite game/protagonist? Has it gotten stale for you?

For me, AC3 pretty much killed the series for me for several years. For some reason (probably watching one of my favorite YouTubers do an LP of Brotherhood/Revelations), I got the urge to pick the series back up again and started playing Black Flag and actually really liked it a lot - even if it took some time to get into it.

I was going to jump into Unity next but at the prodding of RhysRhys I grabbed a cheap copy of Rogue since it apparently leads directly into Unity. Playing it on PC, I'm getting 60fps which makes a huuuuge difference - everything is so much smoother. I kind of wanted to take a break from Pirate Creed and play a more traditional AC game, but Rogue is apparently pretty short and I'm enjoying it so far.

Oh, is Rogue a pirates one too?

I enjoyed the original game. For some reason, I didn't really latch onto the second one as much, but I did enjoy it's spin-offs.

They made jumping off of buildings and stabbing people fun.

And then the third game happened. And ugh. I didn't care about anything happening in that plot. Some of the wilderness stuff was neat, but I hated navigating the cities. Everything felt very one-note and monotonous. Part of the appeal of the series to me is being able to tour relatively exotic locations. But ACIII basically gave me a tourist-trap pioneer village in a Canadian winter. And having experienced that in real-life, I cared not.

And then I left the series.

Rogue was a poor man's Black Flag with elements of AC3 thrown in there. Not a great game, but not a bad one either.

Looking forward to getting into a more "traditional" AC game with Unity and Syndicate though...I'll probably wait a bit to jump into Unity though since I was feeling the fatigue pretty hard during Rogue.
