Conference went alright, I guess. It was pretty marred by the fact that I had NO desire for the console at all so it didn't have my full attention but normally I think it would've been successful. It was really surprising to see no mention of Kinect and no crappy social games. I really hope the Capy game won't be exclusive forever. :( It looked really good and I love their stuff. But I'm not getting an Xbone for one indie game. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it came from a patent. So yeah, Microsoft could decide to go that way but it's more likely they just patented it so that no one else would go that way (or else they could sue). I don't think they'd get away with something like that and they must be aware of it.
So many... Xbox One exclusives seen at the E3 Press Conference. Oh my, what happened? Did Microsoft buy so many shares in those 3rd party developers that they were forced to make it exclusive to Xbox One? That's rather shocking. :o But anyways, what I found was rather strange... was that there was absolutely no sound whatsoever in two trailers that were shown at E3. Oops, epic fail. xD I'm guessing Microsoft's video technicians didn't test the equipment before presentating. I was a bit disappointed that their livestream on their Xbox website wasn't even working for me, I'm not sure about everyone else... but I found that it didn't work. And then Microsoft put in a link to the gametrailers livestream about an hour too late while the E3 Press Conference was still going. But anyways, I got to watch all the livestream on GameSpot from the beginning to the end. And if the livestream on Xbox website wasn't working for anyone on the website, then I really do feel bad for those Xbox fans that actually deppended on the Xbox website for the livestream that missed some of the beginning of it. :(
So many shooters and games with white, male protagonists. Not a lot of variety. Out of everything that was announced, Project Spark is about the only game that looks interesting. So no I won't be getting an Xbox One.
I didn't watch it live so I was clicking on articles detailing each game and I was like "Oh this game seems neat, who do you play as? A white guy. How about this game? A white guy. This one? A white guy with a gun." Some more interesting characters would have been nice.
Curses! There was still the possibility that they could have announced a proper Banjo-Kazooie title for the 360. But no. WHY BUY THE LICENSE IF YOU HAVE NO PLANS TO USE IT! GIVE IT BACK TO NINTENDO!!!
Numerous rumours this year were saying that Nintendo was trying to secure the rights to Banjo, but that they fell through. Which, I thought meant something was coming from Microsoft, but no. All of the old Rare staff has moved on. The current Rare is a shell. The old individual developers all want to make a true Banjo, or something similar, and work with Nintendo. Get that gang together, Nintendo, and make the game happen. Banjo license or no.
