I'm going to assume that everyone here speaks English, and that for the majority of us it's our primary language. What other languages do you know, even if just at a basic level? I know a fair bit of German, and can probably at least get the general idea of what's being said in most cases (so long as they aren't talking really fast >_>). I have an extremely basic understanding of Japanese, pretty much only picking up a word here and there and being able to read just a tiny bit. Other than that I can count in several languages but that's it lol.
First language is English, hence why it's the only thing I'm fluent in. ;_; I took French in school for years so I can understand most things said in it all right. (aka. I can watch pretentious French movies without subtitles and not come away completely confused.) I can't speak it well at all but if I were forced too, I'd probably pick it up conversationally okay. I've got a pretty decent understanding of Japanese too--at least fandom-wise. I can play some RPGs in Japanese and understand them so I think that's a pretty good indicator! But toss me into Japan or something and I'd be totally lost. I barely remember any vocabulary that's actually useful. XD; I want to learn a ton of other languages but I don't have the drive for it anymore and don't want to be graded on it so I'm hesitant to take any more languages in school. edit: god i hate these smilies
If programming languages don't count then I'm stuck at 1, English. I did take Spanish class for a year, although it was more of just the Easy A class.
I'm only fluent in English. I took three years of Spanish in high school but at this point I can only pick up a few words here and there if I hear it.
