I figure I may as well post these somewhere. The other day I was doing a quiz and realized I could only name an embarassingly low amount of fifth gen Pokémon. I've played both Black and White but the fact that I played the first in Japanese and the second in English means I know some of them in another language, only a few in English, and the rest I just plain forget. And that sucks! So I decided to do what I used to do for learning the different Pokémon. I decided to draw them. And I got to Dewott before realizing that I'd accidentally deleted every one before Dewott, got discouraged, and gave up. Then I redrew them (even worse) on paper and I'm hopefully gonna continue if I can. Spoiler: Starters! The starters are probably the best looking ones of the bunch. xD; Spoiler: Grass Starters The snivy line has crappy hands. I would hate to be a Snivy. (The hands did not get fixed.) Serperior looks like a banana. I cannot unsee it. Spoiler: Fire starters And the only thing worse than being a banana is being an egg in a wrestling suit. I didn't realize it until I drew it but I actually really like Pignite. It's so derp looking. xD My computer-drawing-that-got-deleted was so much better than this. D: Detailed Pokémon are hard to draw, especially with a dull pencil crayon in a 3" space. Spoiler: Water starters Can you spot the only one done on the computer? ;_; I kept hoping the water line would grow on me. It hasn't. Samurott is hard to draw and I can't make it not look stupid when I do. :( Spoiler: bonus terrifying victini ...i... i don't know what's wrong with its eyes or why they turned out so lifeless and scary. Also it's fat. ;_; As I said, I'm hoping to continue this and do it for all the gen 5 Pokémon so I learn their names and what they look like. n_n; It's more fun than staring at them for hours on end hoping to memorize them otherwise.
...were you drawing in crayon? lol I am so bad with all the names after the second-gen. I refer to all of them like "this thing", "that thing", "fat thing", "blue thing", "ice thing", "clam thing". So, keep up the drawings. I might learn something XD
It was a really dull, red pencil crayon. T_T I think I tried to sharpen it at one point but the lead nearly fell out so I stopped. If I continue, I'll probably dig out my mechanical pencils if it's on paper... otherwise I think the Dewott is much easier to see so using my old tablet is okay. XD;
I really like emboar too, he's my favourite gen fiver. I also really like the picture of him, just something about the way the lines are and his design work well.
Haha yeah it kind of does look like it's drawn in crayon. A dull pencil crayon gives a nice effect, I think. A sharp pencil crayon gives dark, sharp lines which aren't good for shading. These are really good drawings, though. Years ago I used to draw Pokemon with my friends. Let's just say they mostly weren't recognizable.
Nice drawings! I used to draw those long ago, but not any more. I didn't stop because I got board, I stopped because now I can easily get these off the internet.
That's a terrible way to think! It's way more fulfilling to do stuff by yourself, such as drawing pictures by hand. I wish I had more time on my hands to continue drawing, but I'm so tied up with other commitments.
I still have some gen 5 stuff I never scanned in but I'm too lazy to go find it and scan it. Oops. Instead have some favourite-pokémon-of-each-type images! View attachment 9 Bidoof is adorable and my love for it started with the "Adventures of Bidoof" webcomic and continued when derp became a meme. View attachment 10 I don't like fighting types. I still only like Pignite for being an egg in a wrestling suit. View attachment 11 Remember boys and girls, Drifloon kidnaps children! But at least it's adorable while it does that.
