...from your absolute favorite series of all time, what would it be?

For me, it'd be The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Such a mediocre game, and the train gimmick got old really fast. Dungeon design was meh, overworld was atrocious, and the Tower of Spirits was annoying as hell.

I'm going to ignore the one game aspect of this thread. I would get rid of Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 Versions from the Pokemon series. I just thought they were unneccesary. When I think of the DS era of Pokemon, I think of Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. I don't think of the other games. Also, Black and White were released on March 6, 2011 in North America. The 3DS was released about 2 weeks later on March 27, 2011 in North America. Makes no sense to me. Gen 6 should've been Gen 5 in my opinion.

Wait.... Zelda is your absolute favourite series of all time?

I think B/W were okay, B2W2 were very "why am I playing this?"

Aaaaand, I'm not going to pick Zelda because my answer will be the same as Geoff's and that's boring. Nearly as much as Spirit Tracks.

So, next favourite series would be... Mario? I'm also not wiping a single game from existence. I am removing the entire New Super Mario Bros. sub-series. Instead of getting Super Mario Bros. 5, we get this sub series with play mechanics stuck between SMB1 and SMB3 with a crimped Yoshi thrown in just because. It feels ancient, without nostalgia. The music is incredibly annoying. The level design is uninspired. The graphics are bad. The original four games were all very different from each other in all of what I just mentioned, each one made advancements, but this sub series is the same thing over and over again. Each sequel is merely a level pack to the first bad game

Gen 5 had great plots, characters (the best evil team), and some good Pokemon designs (some really awful ones too). I don't think they were unnecessary at all - and on a technical level they're a lot better than the Gen 6 games, which have one of the most unoptimized engines I've ever seen. But I really wish they'd built upon the progress they made in storytelling with Gen 5 in Gen 6 rather than just throwing it out the window for one of the worst Poke-plots of all time.

You mean you didn't like the story about a giant, ancient, homeless man and a weapon made up dead Pokemon?

Hey! We got New U and Luigi U with our Wii U bundle. It was that or Wind Waker (and we got that for free later). We enjoyed those fan hacks on the Wii though. Newer and Another Super Mario Bros. Wii were a good time. Much better than what Nintendo actually cooked up

    Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded.

Coded itself was alright. I mean, I never played it because it only came out on a specific phone in Japan but the story was okay when it was a shitty cell phone game that not many people would have a chance to play. Even though it contained tie-ins to the rest of the story and was actually canon, it was okay because it wasn't necessary canon. A description sufficed. What came out on DS was an abomination, though, and the fact that they stretched it even thinner to put it in 2.5 HD as a several hour movie was... ugh. UGH. I hate it so much.

    And no one was surprised.

If you told me to guess your favourite series of all time, I think Zelda would be like my tenth guess.

I knew that would be your pick, lmao.

And why does everyone find this so hard to believe? What did you guys think my favorite series would be?

    Not that.

We're not really in the same league of Zelda fandom here lol

(EDIT: Oh, hey, I'm Sackboy now)

You never really go out of your way to talk about Zelda games, you never show a lot of excitement for upcoming Zelda games compared to other releases... idk. You are the quietest "Zelda is my favourite series" Zelda fan that I've ever known, apparently.
