Dunno about you, but I tend to play at least one thing Halloween themed around now. Video games tend to lend themselves well to it. Can't really think of any games that are Christmas, or Easter, or idk, Arbour Day related Anything a go-to for you generally? Something new you're looking at tackling? Maybe just a themed level in a game you're already playing? Resident Evil? Castlevania? Silent Hill? Something else? I normally find myself playing Luigi's Mansion or Ghostbusters
I'm not big on horror at all, so no, I don't usually play anything "scary" in October. Halloween just isn't that big of a deal for me - we never even get trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood. I guess I could try to play Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, but I can't really get into that game for some reason. :/
I usually try to play SOME sort of scary game, but I prefer playing with other people around. In the past, that meant streaming. In the more recent past, it meant playing while my roommates watched. The latter isn't an option anymore and I don't think I have time to gather people together while I stream something this month so... I might have to try to get through something on my own or abandon the idea this year. :(
Maybe I'll watch a playthrough of P.T. again on Hallowe'en. It's really the only true "horror" experience I've ever had. Although it'll probably not be scary this time around since I know about everything that will happen.
I did a halloween event on RuneScape back in like.... 2008, I wanna say? The thing sucked. All the holiday events on RS back then were filled with people complaining that the prizes were never as good as the ones they gave out in 02 or 03, which was the santa hats and some sort of skeleton suit or something idk. from my perspective they just got worse as Hagex kept taking away functionality of the event items like the ability to trade or lend, and with the advent of graphics updates everything just kind of fell apart anyway lol. On OSRS they let out phats at the end of 2014, and when I got back on a few months after I bought one for like 50k and it's in my bank. Also got a santa for like 20k, that's there too :3
Couple years later - it's October again. Is anyone playing anything scary for Halloween? I've thought about playing BioShock, which has some horror elements, but I don't think I'm going to get around to it before the end of October, especially since I'll be gone the entire last week. Plus I have some other games I'm working on. It's on my to-play list at some point in the near-ish future though since I've never played it but always wanted to.
My answer remains the same as my original post :P I already played Luigi's Mansion. via Nintendon't on my Wii, so I got to play it proper widescreen - which was neat. Currently, I'm playing Pikmin (again through Nintendon't) because its nature-y and that makes me think of autumn. I plan on playing Ghostbusters on the 360 yet again afterward.
I've played Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. I prefer the simplicity of the original and I find it to be spookier too.
From what I've played of Dark Moon, it just seems like they tried too hard to make it a "full" game and it lacks the tightness and cohesiveness of the original. And it lacks the charm too. So it's a lot longer and bigger in scope, but it's just kind of boring.
