Having had the experience with a desktop for many years and having my own laptop for a couple years now, I'd easily choose laptop. Having a desktop is nice and all and it does have its own benefits, but I enjoy the simplicity that comes with a laptop. Plus, I've found being able to take it with me if I need it has come in quite handy.
The PC I use the most is a laptop and run it on Linux. I have a desk top running on Windows 7 but I hardly use it. I also have a Macbook that I use even more than my Linux laptop.
I agree that they generally do, but I find many people just prefer listening to music on their iPods or phones. My laptop has pretty decent sound quality, with some built in Altec Lansing speakers. They're not incredible, but listening to music and watching videos is more than adequate.
Laptop for me however I do still use a desktop for doing alot of work especially if it involves working on my forums. I prefer laptop as it is more portable I can use it where ever I am which is great as I prefer to go to bed and browse the internet sometimes.
Lying in bed with my laptop was one of the things I wanted to. I can't even do that, though, because my laptop gets hot underneath, it's pretty heavy, and I can't get into a comfortable sitting position on my bed with it. Guess I'm stuck sitting at my desk with it.
I like desktops, since the screen is much larger. But I do like laptops since they're portable. They're both equal to me.
Everyone knows that I prefer desktops to laptops. In fact, I'm weird in the sense that I can only have a Windows Desktop and a Mac Laptop. This is because I find that Windows laptop just don't cut it - while the Mac laptops are wayyyy overpriced, at least the do have impressive build quality and amazing battery life. But, when asked to choose, I would definitely go for a desktop over a laptop any day.
I am not sure really. Currently, I am running the Laptop, but I indent to get a desktop in the near future.
