And so it begins. This just looks incredible. The graphics are amazing, the battles look fantastic, the legendaries are awesome, the Fire and Water starters are adorable (not so keen on the Grass), and holy crap they're actually releasing worldwide before the end of this year.
This was the reason I chose not to go back to sleep when I woke up about an hour ago, and I've gotta say, it was totally worth it. :P The new Pokémon seem cool (Fennekin and Chespin are
I should be more excited about this but this announcement came at a bad time. I just started playing Black 2 yesterday and the very next day the new generation of Pokemon is announced. I'm focused on Black 2 right now, I don't really care about the new Pokemon or region or anything. The worldwide release is surprising though. I don't think this has ever happened with the series. Also, seeing as how you can catch Pokemon from previous generations, my guess would be that these new games would include around 100 new Pokemon, perhaps even less.
I'm hoping for fewer new Pokemon. - I'd rather have a good variety of old Pokemon plus a handful of really good new ones. Just hoping that this gen is better than 5, which was honestly a big disappointment. 4 is still by far my favorite generation.
I nearly wet myself when I saw that video. It has to be the most exciting gaming related thing I have ever seen in my life, and that includes when I found out they were remaking Pokemon Gold and Silver :P Fennekin and Froakie are wonderful. Can't stand Chespin though, just like I couldn't stand Oshawott (though everybody seemed to love Oshawott, somewhat bewildered by that but whatever). What I'm MOST excited about though is the worldwide synchronised release! That's never happened before and it's quite possibly the most exciting thing ever to be able to play at the same time as Japan... and in English!
It's going to be nice not to have a Pokemon game spoiled for six months before we even get it. :P And Oshawott is adorable, stfu. Although I hated it when I first saw it, I think that was because both its sprite and official artwork sucked when it was first revealed.
I'm sorry Geoff, it's a bad design. Its head is white. There's just no way I can deal with that as a sane human being. There's no need for its head to be white.
...what is wrong with its head being white? Lots of Pokemon have white heads, how is liking with something with a white head a mark of insanity?
WHAT. If anything, Black and White were MUCH better than Diamond and Pearl. :( Though I agree with you on the "fewer Pokémon" thing. There are so many nowadays. There's no need for your head to be white, then. I can't deal with that as a sane human being. :P
Platinum and HGSS are by far my favorite Pokemon games. I loved Sinnoh as a region, a lot of my favorite Pokemon are from the 4th gen, the expanded Sinnoh Dex had great variety, and Platinum had really fun battles and a near-perfect level curve/difficulty (it could even have been a bit more challenging).
