With the announcement that the Vita will cost the same as the 3DS - $249 - do you want one? If you don't, what would make you decide to get one? I'm a lot more intrigued by it, because it seems like there's a LOT of functionality for $250. However, none of the games shown so far really interest me. Maybe once we get closer to release and get some launch games hammered out, there might be something to persuade me to get one at launch.
Yeah, that's pretty much the same for me. I love how iPhone like it is. I think it has a lot of potential and full of possibilities. But I wasn't really interested in the titles it showed, and chances are it'll just be used a PSP with nicer graphics anyway and ignore all the rest of it
I definitely want one, although I'll probably wait for games I like to come out first (Hopefully, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Volume II will be for the NGP).
I want one, but like any console, I'll be waiting until there are games out that interest me. Some of the launch titles (or titles they mentioned during the conference, anyway) piqued my interest but it was only a handful so I'll be waiting for one "must have" (probably a Square-Enix title, derp) or a bunch of "kind of wants" and a sale. :P But I do want to get this before the 3DS. It's region-free! I almost want to run out and buy one on launch day just to thank Sony for that. (I'm still angry that the 3DS is region-locked and almost don't want one at all in protest.)
Overall the 3DS has more games coming out that I want, but then again we haven't really seen THAT many Vita games. Like Erica said, a Square Enix game (like KH or FF) would likely sell me on a Vita.
I want a vita but I dunno if i can justify spending that much cash on another handheld that will only really see use on train rides and stuff :( The promise of uncharted and call of duty has me wanting it a lot though
I play handhelds at home more than I do out, lol. Usually when I go somewhere I drive, since public transportation isn't much of an option where I live, so obviously I'm not going to be playing a game. Plus with the battery life of the 3DS (and likely Vita, looking at the hardware), you're not going to be doing much gaming on the go before you need to charge again, so you want to be near an outlet.
Vita has the most stacked launch line-up for a handheld since the GBA. While I probably won't be able to get all of these at once, given unlimited resources I'd get Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Project Gravity, LittleBigPlanet, Sound Shapes, Dynasty Warriors, and probably more. I haven't been this hyped for a console release since the Gamecube (you wouldn't believe just how utterly freaking excited I was for it as a kid, heh. So much for that.)
I don't want one, I would rather pocket the $250 and put it towards the Nintendo Wii U when it comes out. I've never been a big fan on handheld gaming but it definitely looks impressive.
I've actually gotten so I prefer handheld gaming to console gaming lately...it's so much nicer to be able to sit back and relax and play games wherever, rather than be confined to in front of a TV. Since the 3DS and Vita are providing almost console-like experiences, it makes it even better. I just hope that experiences unique to handheld gaming don't become a thing of the past.
