I know some of us can't live without rumble, and some can't stand it and disable it first thing when starting a game. So the question is, what do you think of rumble? Does it add to the experience, or just annoy you?

I've got so used to rumble in shooters that when I shoot and it doesn't rumble it feels weird and annoys me. I always have it on.

I tend to always keep rumble on when I play a game, as long as said game uses it well. Like Furret said, it just feels weird to turn it off after using it for so long, especially in shooters.

I can live without it, but I enjoy it and prefer playing with it enabled. It's just a nice effect

I've never let go of the control while watching cutscenes. o.o

*thinks* Probably because I haven't played much that were super long and didn't require a button press to continue

I guess you mean the controller 'vibrate' setting? :P (And somehow NOBODY who posted used the word 'vibrate' so far... Seriously, don't you guys call it that in other countries? :D)
I never really change the settings, I never really found rumble particularly annoying. In fact I quite like the effect, so if I were to turn it off I'd probably find it suddenly very awkward, lol. :D

Someone obviously wasn't around in the days of the N64. Rumble Pak ftw.

I totally was around, but I didn't own one myself, no... :P I also know about the Rumble Pak but assumed after that everyone just called it 'vibrate'. But I feel like I'm making a huge deal out of nothing xD

Maybe Nintendo has trademark on "rumble" since they made the rumble pack? In the settings/options for lots of Nintendo games it says "Rumble: On/Off". Other systems say "vibrate" I guess
