4K is laserdisc. The in-between technology that won't take off with something better too close around the corner
How so? Just about every TV except the barebones budget sets are 4K nowadays, and 4K monitors are getting more common as well (and higher resolution laptops are showing up more too). It seems pretty mainstream.
Computer monitors, yes. But there is not enough 4K content out there on the TV front. A lot of these TVs are just hosting upscaled content. My bet is on 8K.
