Maybe "personalities" isn't the right term for it, but....

Any vlogs, podcasts, Twitter folk, bloggers, etc. from or about the industry that you follow?

I used to watch Giant Bomb but they've grown a bit jaded and dudebro for my tastes lately. I follow a few YouTubers - StephenVlog/Plays, a few PokéTubers, chuggaaconroy, and a few others.

I'm a fan of Jeremy Parish; from his work at USGamer to his blog and hobby work at GameSpite.net. Retronauts, Game Boy World, Good Nintentions, Metroidvania, Gintendo, etc. He's an excellent, thoroughly informative, and entertaining resource on all things retro gaming across all his channels.

    ---

I've also followed the work of Emily Rogers for a couple of years now. Both on Twitter and the various incarnations of her blog over the years. She's simply a great Nintendo fan, caring about the things Nintendo fans care about. She gets the scoop and her rumours correct most of the time. On the occasion when she is wrong, the Internet seems to hate her - but I remain unphased, because it's all a fun ride of pure Nintendo joy whether it pans out or not.

    ---

The OneUps are nimble little band. Now spanning seven albums and a number of single track releases over the years. Starting off with, and best known for, jazz and lounge renditions of video game tunes - they've since slowly, but surely, made the transition almost firmly to funk music. But they still dabble in other genres when appropriate - from rock, to mariachi, to even nerdcore hip hop. I never did get into their more rough and tumble offshoot called "Bad Dudes", but another short-lived offshoot called "The Altered Beasts" was a wonderful acoustic throwback to their lounge music days

    ---

On the topic of music, I recently discovered Smooth McGroove. Some impressive acapella, with some funny faces. Love hearing stuff from games I know well; very nostalgic. Some of the material also originates from games I haven't played - but the music he presents sounds so good that I really want to play them now (like with Undertale).

    ---

I will admit to not actively watching this channel (Because Gaming, an offshoot of Because Geek) because it kinda weirds me out to do so, but I'm still going to give it a shout out because I'm IRL friends with the host. Also, she invited me to be one one of her Patreon videos once to discuss the NX (as it was known at the time)... although I did decline the invitation. But who knows what'll happen in the future (Zelda geek talk?).

    ---

Nintendo Voice Chat podcast. Say what you will about IGN, but their Nintendo team is great. Although it is also their job, they are true Nintendo fans and it shows. The pace of the podcast is brisk and stays on topic. They have a good take on things, and call Nintendo out when they confuse us in that way only Nintendo can.

Ohhhh, I do like Jeremy Parish even though I don't follow Retronauts. He was fantastic at 1up and USGamer though, and I'm going to miss seeing his content at USG since he just left there before Christmas.
