What is the oldest memory that you can think of that has stuck with you year after year? I remember when I was about 2 and I was living at my old house. I crawled over the guard that keeps young children from falling down the steps, and I fell down the steps. It's a little funny now but it hurt like heck back then.
Well that's an interesting memory, at least! My very first memory was running down the hall and into the bathroom in a house I lived in from ages 2-6 (I think this happened when I was 2 or 3) and hoping I was tall enough to see myself in the mirror above the sink. I wasn't. :(
running around in a park with my dad then getting in trouble for throwing my shoes away. I was like 2/3
The oldest memory I have is of me when I was 3 or 4 being covered in ants. I stepped in a huge ant pile and ants immediately covered my entire body. My mother said I looked like I had chicken pox all over my body.
Erica, that is the cutest memory I've heard of. Mine is when I was about the age of three or four. I was outside with my friend who lived just next door. We were both into Power Rangers (the original) and I had an action figure of the White Ranger. I remember throwing it up in the air near the roof of my house and it never came back down. It was a sad day after that. I even remember moving from that house and the last thing I did was look up at the spot where I lost the White Ranger. I never did get it back.
The earliest memory I've had is when I was about..4 years old or so? I don't think I had anything earlier than that, because I tend to forget certain insignificant parts rather easily. ....That's not to say, however, that a large portion of my "infanthood" wasn't important, its just that...for some reason, I couldn't be bothers making certain experiences memorable and whatnot. I also remembered certain things when I was about 7 years old or so, but I only remembered that because I was so anxious for my 7th(or8th?) birthday or so and that was like the longest I've ever waited for my birthday to come. xD;
I remember being on a white rocking horse in a sunlit corner of a room. The walls of the room were white, the floor was wood-paneled, and there was a metal daybed in an adjacent corner of the room. It was a home that we only lived at until I was around 18 months old, so it's a pretty early memory.
I don't remember much, but I was apparently 3 and I heard a woman screaming when I was in the house. Turned out it was an elderly woman had fallen over in the ally at the back of the house.
I remember my parents leaving me with my grandma and came back with my new sister. I was a little under 2 years old.
My oldest memory... Was probably when I was like a baby and my mother brought me downstairs to watch TV (which I didn't even understand at the time) instead of having me sleep in the crib. I was probably 1 or 2 or something...
