Games are expensive...if you get them on day one you'll usually be dropping $60, with rare exceptions. Do you pay up? Or do you wait for price drops and/or shop sales? The only time I'll pay full price for a game is if there's some sort of promotion (like a "Buy the game and get a $20 gift card" offer), and usually even then I'd rather wait for a lower price. It has to be a game I'm really, really anticipating for me to justify spending full-price on it.
Usually, it's only if it's a game that I'm really, really excited for, like Assassin's Creed: Revelations or Tales of Graces F.
I'll pay full retail price. I just don't usually because I don't have to. I price match, use coupons, haggle, look for promotions, use gift cards, etc. I've bought new games on launch day at a fraction of the price. Like Arkham Asylum for $19. Mass Effect 3 for $25. Wii Fit Plus for $0 :p
I don't mind paying full price--god knows I'll often pay more than what a game is worth when I import--but lately I've been doing my best to hold off on games. I find that if I can avoid buying the game on its release date, I can usually wait for it to go down in price, so I'll do that.
If it is a game I am really looking forward to I don't mind paying full price. Otherwise I tend to hold off until they are either much lower in cost or I get the strong urge to play them. I don't buy that many new games (since I mostly play MMOs) so it isn't that big a deal for me to occasionally buy a full-priced one.
Depends on the game. The last game I bought for full retail was...I can't even remember. I think Skyrim. It was 100% worth the full price. But no more until I have a job. Once I've got that, I'm willing to spend my free money on games I really really want to play. Otherwise it's wait and check on Amazon for a discount.
