Owned, played, both, whatever. Just answer the question. What was your first game? And system, I guess. I know I had a NES since I was at least three. And that my game library never grew beyond what I had on that first day - Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt, Sesame Street 123, Tetris, and Blades of Steel. I'm pretty sure my first game was either Super Mario or Sesame Street. But, I'm going to say Super Mario Bros. because... it isn't Sesame Street.
Ahh Sesame Street 123... 5:00-5:10. THE MOON DISAPPROVES OF YOUR PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO ADD!!! Every time that disturbing moon shook its head and that eerie music played I would become so scared to continue playing the game. Anyway, I can't really remember what my first game was but...Sesame Street 123 *shudders*.
When I was four or five, my friend's mother gave me her Sega Genesis, along with a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog. For a while, that was my only video game, but I absolutely loved it; my next three were Bubsy, Primal Rage, and Sonic 2.
I didn't have my own console of any sort until the GBC at age 8 or 9. I also don't know what the name of the first video game I ever played on a console was... or even whether it was an NES or an SNES. :x I played a ridiculous amount of computer games as a kid though. The earliest one I remember playing? Umm. Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape up or Slip Out. :'D I also played the Magic School Bus games or various other DOS games but Leisure Suit Larry is the one I remember best. Good thing I was really bad at it because once you actually do things in the game, it gets suggestive fast. Not really appropriate for a 3-year-old.
The GBC was my first system too, and my first game for that was Pokemon Pinball. Like Erica, I played PC games before that though, and I had a bunch of DOS games - so many that I can't remember which one I had first.
