PiCTOBiTS Playing this off and on. Not very far into it. A bit like Tetris meets Picross, or probably Polarium more likely. All wrapped up in a retro NES package, which I always welcome (much like Tetris DS was) Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask Yeah... I'm behind. I know Azran Legacy just came out and I'm only getting to this now. But I'm enjoying it so far. I always welcome going back into the Layton world. The music and the voice work and the Euro-anime style ^__^ I like the 3D in this game. I miss tapping for clues instead of dragging the magnifying glass around, but it's okay.
Yeah, I feel like the magnifying glass makes things easier which is kind of welcome, but at the same time it feels really... I don't even know... impersonal? That's not the right word but I don't really like it and I miss the old way even if it probably wasn't as objectively good. :( Anyway, my current list: Tales of Symphonia My brother came over and helped. We made it up to the point where we're infiltrating the... Luin/Asgard human ranch. We took the hard route so we still have all of Palmacosta to do. I have no idea how my household is gonna finish this before my roommate graduates and moves out soB. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy I was really excited to play this, especially after the longer-than-usual wait (since EU got it ages ago) but I've found it pretty hard to get into. I don't like the gameplay format (it's split into episodes... kind of... that you choose to do in whatever order you like so they feel very disconnected). I'm also not a fan of the overarching story they've been doing with the prequel trilogy so while I should be really excited to wrap it up, I moreso find that I just want to finish it for completion's sake. :( I also want to play FFX and this is taking up my handheld game slot so there's that, too.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD has really sucked me in over the past few days. I'd forgotten how much I love this game, and the HD upgrade is honestly one of the best looking games I've ever played. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I forgot how much side stuff there was to do and how great the NPCs were in TWW.
Right. Same. I just finished this game, so I can comment a bit better on it now than before. The magnifying glass did make things easier in that it changes colour and highlights when you're overtop something of interest. Which I guess is nice, but it takes away the sense of discovery you'd get from just the old tapping way. Although I did like that the landscape would move a bit as you drag the magnifying glass around. Made it feel a bit more like you're searching than just guessing. But, I didn't like controlling on the touch screen while looking up at the main screen. -- Anyway, Layton's out of the way for now until I pick up Azran Legacy or VS. Next, I'm going to be starting Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Which I'm really looking forward to. ^_^ Besides Luigi, I'm also playing Nintendoland in little spurts off and on. I've finished the Zelda minigame. I want to tackle the Pikmin one next. I haven't moved any further in PiCTOBiTS yet because I haven't picked it up since I last wrote about it here lol And I've been playing 2048 on my phone on train rides to and from work when I'm not reading. I haven't beaten it yet ;c
Haven't really been gaming too much since I beat TWW HD, but I did pick Infamous back up this week. I think I'm still fairly early on. It's...okay. Kind of bland, and the characters don't do too much for me either. But it's still pretty fun and I want to stick it out since I've heard Infamous 2 is a lot better. And Second Son looks really fun whenever I get a PS4.
Tales of Asteria Android game. I've been pretty addicted to it the last week. I've finally managed to draw a really good party and the story is surprisingly interesting, for a mobile game. (It's a crossover so it's really interesting to see what roles they dropped the characters in and I always adore seeing the characters in the franchise interact with each other across games. ) Tales of Link Another mobile game. It came out on Android yesterday and I imagine I'm probably going to be equally addicted to this one. I care waaay less about the story but the gameplay is really fun, even if it's stupidly simple. Final Fantasy X HD I think I'm underlevelled. :( I'm in Mt. Gagazet right now and I think I've hit the point where I don't really want to play anymore but I want to finish the game and it's hard to motivate myself to play. Especially when the above mobile games are so much easier to load up and play a round of when I'm itching to play a handheld game. Final Fantasy XIII I got Lightning Returns for my birthday and I kind of wanted to replay the whole trilogy before finishing it off. I don't know how long I'll last, though, since I played one session and haven't touched it in a few days since. But hopefully I'll do it!
Started New Super Mario Bros. U with DarkSpade93. Just got to World 3. Unfortunately... still more of the same, despite more favourable opinions on the Internet. And the Baby Yoshies aren't as likeable as I was expecting.
Ōkamiden Just got to the Agata Forest Entrance. So, still fairly early on. I gotta say, this is a gorgeous DS game. It looks like it's console cousin just at a low res. And Chibi is really adorable. Visuals aside, I'm really enjoying the game. I never gave the original a fair shake because all I ever heard about it was praise and Zelda killer. I look back on it fondly now, but at the time I didn't enjoy it. The core mechanics are still strong, and it's nice to play this handheld version without those lenses blocking my vision this time. Even though I know the original was better. PiCTOBiTS Not much to say here other than it's a puzzle game and I like it. Tetris meets Picross meets Polarium, with a retro NES vibe. The theme of each stage's puzzle is a NES game for sound and visuals. Right now I'm on Stage 9 and I have no idea what the NES game is lol (yeah... only Stage 9. Not playing too often) Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies - Demo - It's a turn-based, hand-held, JRPG... and it's me, so you can guess how this is going. Currently in the Temple of Wind. I want to give this game a shot because so many people seem to love it, but I just can't do this. Probably doesn't help that the demo has no plot or characters, just a series of fetch quests. New Super Mario Bros. U As mentioned in my previous post, I'm playing this with DarkSpade93. It's just... more of the same from this tired and misguided sub-series. Glad I'm playing co-op, as that makes it more enjoyable and entertaining. Nintendoland I'm impressed with some of the single player games here like Zelda: Battle Quest. Nearly done Pikmin Adventure. Might play the Metroid and Balloon Fight games and then call it a day. 2048 I'm ashamed to say I still haven't beaten this despite playing almost every day
Don't worry - I still can't get very far either. I have a good strategy for it, but it never works 100% of the time. Haha. I can't even believe people have gotten into the five-digits on it. I just recently finished Far Cry 3 and now I'm begrudgingly going through Tomb Raider. Not a huge fan of it in some aspects, but overall, enjoying/ed both.
