Whoa! Using the C-stick is bad? I use it all the time. It's great for quickly knocking someone off the screen. I only chrage my smashes when the opponent is falling towards me since I actually have time to safely charge them.
Well, I sort of feel like you should be using A all the time since you can still let it off without charging and avoiding C is one less control to think about. Every person I know who's exceptionally good at SSB doesn't bother with the c-stick at all. :/
I think competitive SSB players frown on using the C-stick, but I rely on it. I'm terrible at pulling off combos in fighting games, so if there's anything to make it easier, I'm going to use it.
I don't mean to brag but I use the C-stick and I know I'm not bad as SSB. Completing Boss Battle on Intense in Brawl was no easy feat! I also defeated every single character with the level 9 difficulty setting without losing a match in one sitting! (R.O.B. ftw )
I can't charge when trying to A smash. And C stick is weaker. So no shame there. Easier to execute, but weaker. Fair tradeoff. Not cheap.
I'm not saying it's cheap, I'm just saying most "professionals" (if you will) look down on it since it has less functionality than A+stick and takes your thumb away from the "optimal" location. :P
Well good for them XD Smash professionals are snobby folk What's the preferred way to jump for you all? Tap stick up or button press?
