I'm in some deep crap, guys. I'm not sure if any of you are aware of an imageboard called 4chan, but that's where this all started. A few nights ago I made a thread telling people to call my Pizza Hut and ask for Battletoads. It's an infamous prank that I honestly thought would blow over in an hour. Well, it hasn't. It's still happening today. And I'm the prime suspect. Though I've plead innocent, they have the FBI and marshal law looking into it and are trying to backtrace the original posters IP. I'm pretty sure I'm facing federal prison, here. I wasn't even aware this was illegal. Even so, now the calls are getting violent which I didn't intend for, either. Shits getting crazy and I can't stop it. I'm afraid to come clean. I'm afraid of everything right now... This could literally ruin my life. I'm so scared. So, guys, this is my potential farewell. I'm expecting calls from the FBI soon and not later after I suspect they will be at my doorstep. Please pray.. if you know anything that can help please do. I don't know what's going to happen to me. I love this place, I love the freedom of the internet, but never will I associate myself with domestic terrorism. I want to join the military for that very reason, to fight people that are out to harm others and frighten them. In the beginning it was a simple prank, now it looks like karma has gotten the best of me.
That's terrible man, I can't believe that's considered a crime in the USA. Surely no sane judge would give you a custodial sentence for that though? surely worst case that should be community service or something? Hoping it turns out alright for you man.
Holy crap, man...I hope this really doesn't blow up into something that big. I can't imagine why they would have the FBI and a federal penalty and all that for prank calls gone out of hand. I hope it blows over and things settle down without you getting into trouble. Just shows why I don't mess with 4chan though. :/
4chan is a horrible, horrible place. Mao if you do get arrested over this comply 100% with what the police ask you to, be polite at all times and tell them the truth, that you were naive and never thought this would happen, you were unaware of the law and how sorry you are. I doubt they'll even press charges but if they do then repeat in court, tell them that you got wrapped up in something you didn't understand. Explain to the court your desire to join the military and state your reasons why. Explain that you thought it would just be a quick prank where one person would call, make the joke and that would be that. I can't promise you it'll be fine because I'm not fluent in American law, but by showing remorse and explaining the situation with clarity and sincerity will help your chances a lot.
Holy crap. I don't even know what to say, this is awful. I don't think posting elsewhere online confessing to this was a particularly good idea though, if anything it might just confirm their suspicions once they track your IP. I really hope this doesn't turn into anything nearly as big as you think it will. How is this even illegal? Things are getting ridiculous. I really hope it all works out for you.
Well I'm here and well. I haven't been arrested or even served a summons. No calls from the FBI or anything. Just fired. :P I don't really know what's going to happen by now. By this time the feds should have contacted me or shown up at my door if there was anything really serious happening. I'm totally confused and dazed. -.-
