The Wind Waker is a mighty satisfying game if you do a complete run like you did. And even if you don't, there's still a lot of magic to be had. It borrowed a lot from Majora's Mask in how it approached NPC dynamics. Plus, the game's visuals are still wonderful

    Double posting, sue me.

I just wrapped up Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. I enjoyed the scenario a lot more than I did The Last Spectre. Plot, characters, locale, and such. Story was super predictable though. I liked the use of 3D in the game. I'm not sure how I felt about the puzzles. There were so few sliding block puzzles! (I like those. I haven't done the dailies yet though, maybe there are more there) More than a good handful of puzzles though seemed like jokes rather than brain teaser in that the solution was goofy.

Had a good time playing it though and looking forward to more. I still vastly prefer the original games to these prequels, however.

I'm in a Layton mood though. I think I might watch The Eternal Diva soon, never saw that before.

I've beaten Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy and Type:Rider since the last time I posted.

    The former was good. A nice end to the series, although I got pretty bored of it by the end and didn't like its split story format. The latter was great! It's a little indie platformer that teaches you about typography and I love typography, so it was a lot of fun to play through. ;w;

Finished Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon last week for the 3DS. The original is one of my favourite GCN titles, this sequel though.... eehhh... it has its moments.

The atmosphere isn't correct. The music isn't good. No enemy variety. I didn't enjoy the mission-based format. And the controls are funny, using gyro in place of the C-Stick doesn't work well when playing in 3D because everything shifts and gets blurry on you as you move around

Finished up Far Cry 3 and some of Tomb Raider this week. Not sure I'm gonna bother getting through the rest of Tomb Raider. Couple annoying bits are keeping me from playing more.

Beyond that, I beat South Park: Stick of Truth recently. Haven't had as much time to game thanks to my 51 page thesis paper I just finished. Haha.

Been on a minor Mario Kart kick lately. Playd a bit of Super Mario Kart, did 50cc and 100cc. 100cc was just brutal, so I didn't move further with. Doesn't have a good balance and the controls aren't tight. Really no chance of having your items ever hit.

Feelin nostalgic for Mode 7 racers though, I moved onto GBA's Super Circuit - which I just wrapped up a little over an hour ago. Did all three classes for both the Super Circuit tracks and the extra tracks from the SNES game. SNES tracks were much easier here.

Added Mirror's Edge to my list. One of the few games I can play endless times and not get bored. :P

Whoops, been quite a while since I posted in here. I think I edited my master post but just never posted that progress in a reply, eheh.

    Since then, I've beaten:

    • Final Fantasy X HD
    • Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call
    • The Walking Dead: Season 2
      Episode 2
    • Episode 3

    [*]Broken Age: Act 1
    [*]Mario Kart 8
[*]The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
The big surprise of those was how much I loved Broken Age even if it as only the first "half" of what was originally supposed to be a huge game that ended up needing more funding because it snowballed too big during the kickstarter. I was wary of it because there was such a wait for it and then they suddenly decided to split it in half so people oculd play the first half on time and... well. That's always questionable, you know? But I LOVED every second of the game. It was beautiful, it sounded great, the gameplay was perfect. It had one of those plots where I started out not really caring about anything but by the end of each story I was so invested in it. I'm not avidly awaiting the next instalment and I'm sooooo happy I backed that project.

I "beat" Mario Kart 8 too. I think. Does getting gold ranking in all the cups (including Extra/Mirror) count for that? It rolled a new version of the credits when we got the last one so I kind of feel like it counts. (And then completion would be all the stamp thingies and maxing out coins for the collectibles... and maybe stars... on each cup?)

I'm going to say I completed Mario Kart 8. Gold and three stars on every cup in every class. Beat all the staff ghosts in time trials. I don't have all the Stamps, but I'm viewing that like useless Achievements I never count towards completion anyway.

Really enjoyed this game. They did a great job.

...except for battle mode. They really dropped the ball there.
