Haha, no. It's mostly online, but there are specific dates we have to meet with the class (nomination speech days and election night). So it's really cool. I guess I should mention that it's a lecture series on the upcoming presidential election.
Yeah. If you're not doing something in the liberal arts or a "fairly useless degree" (I agree with that) XD, I think it's comparable to Toronto. It would have been awesome if you came here :(
Are there even any places who would... I guess... "specialize" in a lot of liberal arts degrees? ; Like, are there any schools in the world where you'd be able to go "Yeah, that's the #1place to study Women's Studies" or "that's the #1 Religious Studies faculty in the world." I'm trying to think of any time I've heard that a school is really good for something specific that isn't either engineering, CS/math, business, or fine arts.
No idea. Lol I don't think we specialize it though. We just offer a lot of it. I think York tries to be everything to everybody. XD Like you can have some pretty trippy major/minor or double major combos, or specializations. Whether that's a good thing or not is up for debate
In slightly related news... marks are coming in for this term! \o/ I got a 91 in Japanese and a 67 in Stats! The 67 sounds crappy but considering I took the prereq for it like two years ago and I hate the subject, I'm content. (It means I got a 75% on the exam yaay!) My CS mark isn't in yet. :c Still, excuse to celebrate by playing video games all night. As usual. 8D
I... expect it went well. I did well in the course aside from the final but I honestly have no idea how I did on that. D: I essentially didn't do one of the huge questions on it so I expect my mark will be horrible for it but general consensus from other people in the course shows a lot of people didn't finish the exam. So I am kind of expecting a bell curve on that. I probably did just fine but that's the course I'm most worried about so I hate that it's taking so long. ;~;
I hate it when profs make exams so ridiculously long that there's no way you can finish it in the allotted time. And having to spend a majority of it on one single question is even worse. :/
I'm used to some multiple choice/true or false, a bunch of short answers, and a really long question (essay or in CS's case, big program to write). This one had a ton of multiple choice/fill in the blank, like 20 short answers (some longer than most), and two long answers. I only managed to finish one of them. :'( To be fair, though, one question was literally "In five words or less, what was your favourite thing about this course?" for a mark.
