If Namco is involved that could either confirm the return of Snake or ensure no return of Snake depending on copyright laws here.

Sounds like it's going to be exactly like past games with very little changed. Par for the course, especially for Nintendo - but then again, if it's not broke, don't fix it. I know it's sacrilege, but I've never particularly been a big Smash Bros. fan simply because I don't like fighting games, but the system works and doesn't really need changing that much.

Excellent. This is one series I never really want to see leave its comfort zone because it's just SUCH a good "pick up and play" game. So long as someone has played one SSB game, they can easily pick up another. It's a great party game and fun when people are over. I've played SSBB a fair bit in the last few months 'cause it's so easy to pick up a controller for 10 minutes while a friend and I wait for others to arrive and so on.

My least favourite part from SSBB is the Wii remote controls (which is saying something because they're optional :P) so as long as I can use normal controllers with the new one, I'm a happy camper.

I doubt they'll force people to use Wiimotes or anything, so no worries there. I'm actually really interested in seeing if they do anything to utilize the touch screens of the Wii U GamePad and the 3DS. It might not be possible though, since not everyone would necessarily be playing with a GamePad.

Imagine, though: it'd be fun to be able to use Solid Snake's final smash with the touch screen or something. :P

Yeah, well "normal" controllers... uh.. I wouldn't say the Wii U's traditional controller is all that "normal" XD Ugh those control sticks are all wrong.

And it won't take a GCN controller. I wonder if this will be compatible with current Wii Remotes or if they need new Wii U remotes? And in either case if the Wii's Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro work

Don't forget the Wii U Pro controller or whatever it's called. The Xbox 360 wannabe one.

That's what I was referring to with the traditional controller with the weird control sticks

The Wii U tablet has them too. So did Wiimote + Nunchuck scheme with Brawl

Only the one, though. So at least movement is taken care of but I'm bad at SSB so I severely rely on the C-stick smashes. :/
