    Oh, maybe if it was this year since I was worried about my backlog hitting 60 (which apparently is no longer an issue ssdkljfe) but any other sale I would have been okay. XD;

    Ashamedly double posting since I've bought two games to add here. ._.;;

    Tales of the Abyss 3D
    Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D

    When I imported my 3DS I was really anxious about it because I didn't think it would be really worthwhile. Aside from KH I couldn't really think of that many games I wanted on the console even in English. But the library is really impressive so far and I've lucked out and found all the games I want at a fairly discounted price (save launch-day KH). I'm excited for Abyss because VOICED SKITS which is literally the only reason to play it on 3DS if you already own it on PS2 as far as I know. And Dragon Warrior Monsters (the English name) was one of my favourite games on Gameboy and I'm so excited to play it again with beefed up graphics and I'm hoping the soundtrack was redone as well since I loved that too.

    *u* My 3DS library is all the way up to 4 games now! (Or will be once DQM arrives.)
    I added the HiB code to Steam the other day and it didn't prompt me to download it so I'd already bought Shatter. I DID LISTEN TO YOU THEN TYVM. Even though I'm kinda looking at it now and not finding it very appealing. Oh well, will try it anyway. I made sure to download it to Steam and those games always take precedence when I'm bored.

    Sorry but Tales of the Abyss 3D doesn't have voiced skits.

    Picked up Dragon's Dogma yesterday... Not really feeling it. :/ The core gameplay is fun, but everything else seems kind of sub-par to me. I'll probably return it this weekend.

    The Japanese version does.

    They never dubbed voiced skits for the English version. The Japanese version (even on PS2) always had it so if I hadn't gotten the 3DS port, I probably would have just gotten the PS2 version eventually.

    I was actually really hoping they'd go the extra mile and call the VAs back in to do skits for the port but that obviously didn't happen, which is disappointing because it meant there was almost literally no reason for people who played it on PS2 to get it on 3DS. :/

    Do you know if anything was changed in the 3DS release?

    Even visually, I don't think they touched up any textures or anything

    Um, honestly all I'd heard about was the 3D (obv), and loading times. And I think people mentioned the framerate on the overworld wasn't so crappy? And from looking at screenshots forever ago (I think I only looked at English shots once), looks like they switched to an ugly handheld font. :'(

    Definitely nothing worth the removal of multiplayer, not that it's really feasible to have on a handheld.

    Picked up Sonic Adventure 2 and the Sonic Adventure 2 Battle add-on from Xbox Live today. SA2B was the console game I played as a preteen (Aside from Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon Stadium 2 :P), and I haven't really played it much since then. Can't say I regret the purchase so far, considering altogether it was (I think) only $12.

    They remade the character models so they were better scaled for the system, but they didn't do anything special with them beyond that. They added in 3D, of course, ans the framerate is improved in a lot of areas, such as the world map. They removed multiplayer, but in exchange, all versions of the 3DS port have the changes made in the original North American PS2 version, like some monster balancing and I think a few new artes. Of course, none of that is new to North American players, but nonetheless.

    I never thought the balancing was necessary but it'll be nice to keep the mystic artes that were added. :P
