Well, it's true. I "completed" Animal Crossing GCN and Wild World and then City Folk came out and I was disappointed that you couldn't transfer everything over (if I remember correctly you could only transfer your character and your furniture catalog over from Wild World). I really didn't feel like catching all those fish and bugs again and paying off my debt again. But with Pokemon, I don't mind as much. Filling up the Pokedex is fun. Completing the museum in Animal Crossing? Not so much.
Well, Animal Crossing's finally got a bit of a visual boost with New Leaf. CF was quite literally a port of a DS game with an extra area. It was lazy and deserved to get panned. The general core idea and gameplay is the same as it's always been, but New Leaf seems to be a bit more refined on the surface at least
Finally gave in and picked it up today. I'm not sure if it's just because it's been so long since I played my last AC or what, but I have to say I enjoyed today's play session. We'll see if it gets really old really fast and I get bored of it like Wild World. Tomorrow I get my house since I managed to scrounge enough money to pay my down-payment. Sounds like things start opening up once you get past the first day.
I bought it on sale on Amazon for around $22. Totally worth it...except...I haven't played it...because I don't own my 3DS XL yet... :(
