PS4 may be the most honestly priced. As it plus the camera accessory comes to about the same price as the Xbox One. Kinect is making the One bundle costly, and the tablet is for the Wii U
PS4 is also the most traditional "game" console. It really has no gimmicks and is just straight-up a more powerful gaming machine than last gen...no mandatory Kinect or Gamepad, just a traditional game console with a traditional controller. That said, this Nintendo Direct was really disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing what Nintendo had in store for Wii U's 3D Mario adventure, and we get an expansion pack of a horribly generic 3DS game. And Retro's super-secret project is another DKC...such wasted potential. Nintendo is putting out way too many 2D platformers coming up and they really need to get some variety. But what really bugged me is that there were no surprises other than DKC. We knew about every game they showed off beforehand, and it really made for a lackluster showing.
We "knew" about Kart, Smash, and Mario 3D but we never saw them before. Wait a month or so and you may see some more games. It was a nicely timed Nintendo Direct, but not really E3. They stressed before and after the event that they're just going to be making announcements throughout the year from now on. Can't really fault them for doing what they said they were going to do. And how you feel about Super Mario 3D Land is the exception to the larger consensus. But, yeah I don't want this for the Wii U. It doesn't seem like a good fit and feels like Nintendo ported it over so there'd be something on the Wii U this holiday season. Agreed on the 2D platformer front too... NSMBU, NSLU, two Yoshi games, this new DK game. :\ It's a lot in such a short period of time. A new DK from Retro just wasn't something I was expecting (the 3DS port just came out) or wanted. Retro pulled their secret project from E3 at the last minute last year because it wasn't presentable yet. Why not? This thing is full of reused assets from the first. Such a waste of Retro's talents and the new talent they recently hired. Something just seems fishy. This can't be it.
