:( But older Pokemon are so boring compared to most of the new ones. I love gen 5. ;~; That said, I'll probably be mostly reusing favourites in BW2. My team so far is: Cherrim, Whimsicott, Vanillite, Stunfisk. I might add in Vaporeon since I think Eevee can be caught in the wild in this game now? That only leaves one Pokemon left. XD;
No starter? I know they're all bad in Gen 5 more or less (both in terms of appearance and gameplay) but I don't think I've played a Pokemon game without having one of the starters in my team.
Starters are boooring. I've also used all the starters in gen 5 at least a little bit. Snivy is the only one I like but I uhh... already have two grass types lined up. XD; Cherrim is essentially my starter in all Pokemon games now. :x
You can't change the formula too much lol, they're still main-series games and main-series games have to follow a strict set of plot conventions. I don't know how much I'd enjoy the games if they removed that aspect from it.
I just figured that since it directly follows B/W that we'd get something different. As it is, it seems like we're just going to be another innocent trainer starting on our journey, everything will be just peachy, and then the big bad will mess things up towards the end of the game. I kind of thought things would have already been set up from B/W and things would have happened between the two games.
But most of those are bad. Colosseum, XD, Ranger, Rumble, Dash. I would like something that's different and good at the same time.
:( I really liked the Mystery Dungeon series. Ranger was okay, but it held your hand way too much all the way through each of the games. Never really played Colosseum/XD. Dash sucked, though. It could've been good but it was so short and unfinished. :/ I don't think I've touched it since the year I got it. I still have to play Rumble, though.
I tried a demo of Ranger (not sure which one) through the DS Download play feature and the Nintendo Channel and I instantly knew it would destroy my DS' touch screen with all that stylus action so I never got them. Colosseum and XD were okay but no wild Pokemon and just a continuous stream of Trainer battles is boring. I didn't want Gym battles in the games but something like that would have been nice. Dash is bad yes. Rumble is also bad but for some reason I like it. I shouldn't but I do. Then there's Trozei and the PokePark games which I have no desire to play. Ever. Really, the only good ones, like TRI89 said, are Snap and Pinball.
