*just checked Amazon* They have three copies right now. And their turnover is pretty quick. Would probably have a fresh batch next week? Also in stock at my local Best Buy. You're home this weekend. Go grab it from there. Cheaper than Gamestop or Amazon. $30 VS $35
I... didn't even think to check Best Buy. I gave up on trying to find Pokemon spinoffs there ever since they failed to stock the Mystery Dungeon games when I tried to get them near launch. xD; I might head there tomorrow if I have a chance after my haircut!
Anyone picked this up? I've had thoughts about it but I've never actually seen it in a store. :| Guess I have too much on my backlog anyway.
Yeah, I picked up this game a few days after I posted that and didn't get around to playing it until now, although I don't regret buying it since it's still sold out everywhere! It's a lot of fun. It seems like it'll be a bit short, just from my glances at the table of contents of walkthroughs (to gauge progress) but there are apparently a TON of extra missions in the endgame. The gameplay is fun and refreshing for the Pokemon series. It's very much like Fire Emblem although not quite as perfected. It's still a lot of fun, though, and I enjoy the Pokemon type match-ups a lot more than I ever enjoyed weapon matches in FE. It's also a lot of fun using my favourite Pokemon when they pop up. Best impulse buy in a while! :P My only complaints are that your parties get cluttered SO easily. You can only keep a maximum of 6 warriors in each kingdom and you have to shuffle them around awkwardly if you want to use a certain warrior's Pokemon in a battle. It's really easy to recruit them and get totally overwhelmed. I've just given up on recruiting people until the endgame (which hopefully won't come back to bite me). Also, the game seems a bit laggy to me... or at least, the loading screens take a second or two longer than I feel a DS game should. But it's not too distracting. It's still a very fun game overall.
If anyone is thinking of picking this up, do so this year since the time limit for the downloadable episodes expires Dec 31 2012. So if you pick it up sometime after 2012 you'll miss out on these bonus episodes. I'm sure they're nothing major but just a heads up for those interested.
Seriously? I feel like that's a very small window for a game belonging to a major franchise like Pokemon, even if it's a spinoff.
I know a few of you guys have picked this up. Any impressions so far? I have yet to see the game in a single store...you'd think being a franchise as popular as Pokemon, the shelves would be overloaded with copies.
You should probably change the thread title, haha. I left my impressions a few posts up. I'm done with the game now (and probably won't pick it up again for a while despite lots of endgame stuff) but I really liked it.
