Also, at least going to a movie theatre is... kind of like an event. A thing to do. Reason to go out. I... don't see the attraction of hanging out at a Wal-Mart at midnight XD
I sat in the dining room with iTunes open waiting for midnight to buy it. It was very exciting and didn't require any movement, or going setting foot in a Walmart.
What's the iTunes version like? Price compared to the DVD? Does it contain special features and bonuses or is it just the movie? /genuinely curious because she's never bought anything from iTunes before lol Umm... no lines... I guess...? I can see the appeal of midnight releases for games and stuff since you usually wait in line with people who are just as excited for the exact same thing. But if you're going to Wal-Mart at midnight, it's because it's a 24-hour one so your company will just be druggies and insomniacs. :P
Oh... pfff. Whatever. A Best Buy then or GameSpot, if not a Wal-Mart. I'd just pre-order and pick it up the next day. It's not like I'm going to play it that night at all if I were to pick it up at midnight. I'd just go home and go to bed XD (Alternative reply: You frequent Wal-Marts night? Sounds like a description of yourself :P)
Well, you're really going for the socialization when you go to midnight releases. But it has to be, you know, an actual midnight release. Which I thought was really only in the realm of video games. (alt: I probably would if I could drive! Well, no, not even then.)
Wound up not getting the Blu-ray. The Target special edition packaging is really cheap and disappointing, and apparently the Best Buy one has disc freezing issues. So I'll probably just wait for the regular edition to go on sale for cheaper than $19.99 and get that. :/
I got the Blu Ray -- I preordered it from Best Buy. So far none of the issues that Geoff has mentioned, thankfully. I got it for $9.99 because I had a $10 Best Buy Reward Zone certificate. When I first preordered, they charged me $15.51 or so, but then they dropped the price or whatever so I got a refund. I love the movie and I adore the books, omg, I can't wait for the rest of the films.
