Last movie I saw was Mirror, Mirror back in April. It was really good, I loved it! There are a bunch of movies I want to see right now ;; Avengers, Prometheus, Snow White and the Huntsman. But I'm at home for a while and have nobody to see them with. Maybe once I get back to school I'll go see one or two (if they are still in theaters) with friends.
I didn't like Mirror, Mirror. With the exception of Julia Roberts who was as always amazing, I thought it was pretty damn boring - it was a children's movie that didn't really have any layers adults could enjoy. I only went and saw it for Julia Roberts though, and she did not disappoint. I saw Prometheus last Friday and I thought it was awesome! I saw it with a friend who's a die-hard fan of the Alien franchise though, and she was really disappointed with it as a prequel to Alien. She thought the way it explained the beginnings of stuff was really dumb. So it was great fun as a movie but terrible as an Alien prequel lol
Well, Prometheus was never meant to be purely a prequel, so that makes sense. They want it to be able to be its own series, though still have a few connections to Alien here and there. Also, agreed on Mirror Mirror-- it was pretty bland.
I don't mean to sound so regular and ~with the times~, but the last THREE movies I've seen in theaters were The Avengers, then The Avengers, and then The Avengers again. BUT sometime this week I'm going to see Prometheus which I heard is pretty good :3c
The last movie I also watched was Men in Black 3 and I freaking loved it, such a great ending to an amazing trilogy of movies. Plus, Will Smith is awesome! :P The next movie I'll watch will probably be Spiderman 3.
I saw Brave in theatres twice over the weekend. :3 I really, really loved it which is great because I'd committed to seeing it twice before even seeing it once and after all the shaky reviews it got, I was really worried it would suck. But it was really good. The plot was pretty cliched but I loved pretty much every character, it was gorgeous, and the music was great. There was a lot of humour added in that didn't really need to be there, but I didn't mind that all too much because I think I laughed at pretty much everything they injected anyway. It's not Pixar's best, but I think it may be my favourite Pixar film anyway. Also, the short at the beginning of the movie was AMAZING. Absolutely beautiful and a cute premise, too.
Just saw The Amazing Spiderman. I liked Spiderman (2002) better. It was more emotional. It was tragic when Uncle Ben died in the original, not so much this time around. And he doesn't say that famous line "With great power comes great responsibility" in this movie. He says something similar but it doesn't have the same effect. Aunt May was also much more nurturing in the original. Also, I've been to New York City twice and I did not see any geckos squirming around in the streets unlike in the movie. Maybe they were contained in OsCorp and escaped and are somehow attracted to the Lizard? Idk, it was goofy.
