Ni no Kuni Pre-ordered the Wizard's Edition for the book as soon as it opened to Canadians and it arrived a week after the release date. I played a little bit on Tuesday but I was pretty busy this week so I only got an hour or two in and didn't touch it again until today. Now I've got 6-7 hours and I'm not very far at all because sidequests. To be honest, it's taken me a while to warm up to the game and at this point I'm still really only playing it because the entire internet has declared it God of JRPGs. I'm not... entirely seeing the appeal but it's very pretty, the music is great, and the battle system, now that it's opening up, is lots of fun. It's Tales-y. However, I absolutely hate what I've heard of the English voice track and have played nearly all of it with the Japanese voices on... which then makes me cringe at some of the translation work. sugoi does not in any way translate to "jeepers". Tales of Graces f On my completion playthrough. Playing NG+ on Chaos (mostly) and making sure to pick up all the "[boss] in 60 Seconds" trophies. We're sidequesting before heading to Fendel right now. Getting really bored of spamming Malik's B-artes for usage. ;_; Persona 3 Portable Stuck on the final boss for this and I need to grind but my interest just kind of plummeted once I realized the final boss has 14 stages and you have to get all of them in one go. I'm slightly underlevelled and my Personas (Personae?) aren't very good. Procrastinating on this but it's the only handheld game I have going at the moment since I temporarily gave up on Black 2 so I play this often enough on the bus or before classes.
Nearly the same as what I posted last time, but replace "Country" with "Land". Moved on to Donkey Kong Land 2 Playing most older games right now rather than the new stuff I got over the holidays because with school I don't care if I put an old game on hold for a bit
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Picked this up since I kind of want to play AC3 soonish but I want to get through this first. On Sequence 2, Memory 3 right now, and so far I'm not really enjoying it...the notoriety system is way too finicky and the ways to reduce it are few and far between. Aveline has the personality of a brick, and all the accents are annoying. It just has a lot of little issues, but it's better than Bloodlines. Darksiders II At the entrance to the second dungeon. Hopefully things are just off to a slow start and the game picks up sooner or later. The combat is a lot more flashy and acrobatic, and the overworld seems a lot bigger, but it also just seems like more of the same from the first game.
Pushmo Still playing this this off and on inbetween other things. Fun little game. Should be.... littler though XD Shorter. The concept is great and executed well, but it gets kinda repetitive. Suffers the same fate as Polarium on the DS The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The GBA version with the slightly improved translation. Just still moving along through my Zelda series replay. Don't really enjoy this game too much. The controls are some of the lightest in the series and hearts are scarce. Bad combination. I die alot. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! The GBA version with the David Wise score. I don't like the DK platformers overall (Donkey Kong Country 2 is th exception. That's a great game. Also impressed with Donkey Kong Land on the Game Boy because of how different it was), but man this is a boring game. I don't understand the folksy theme of this game.
Just finished Dead Space the other day. Really good, although it wasn't all that scary after the first couple of hours, just creepy. I still think that Dead Space 2 is scarier. :P Speaking of which, a friend let me borrow that, so I did start it the other day, but my brother's Xbox stopped reading discs a little after I got to the Ishimura, so that playthrough's on hold for now. :/ At the moment, I'm playing Pokémon HeartGold. I'm not very far into it though, I'm only at the Sprout Tower. :P Chose Totodile as my starter.
Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney Finally started this game and WOW IT IS GOING SO SLOW. Probably because I'm determined to actually learn some vocab from this (even if it's oddly crime-related vocab) so I have to stop constantly to look up every word I don't know (and there are a lot ._.) and then if it looks like a useful/interesting/common one, I put it in my Anki flashcard deck. So very time consuming but it's already paying off because it's something to study on the bus. *nerd* Anyway, I'm not very far but I'm loving it so far. I didn't realize how much I missed Phoenix and Maya. ._.; I was really scared of starting this because I knew it was probably a little above my skill level but it's not nearly as intimidating as I thought it would be. We'll see if that lasts though, haha. All I know is WOW I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO GET LOCALIZED PLEASE GET LOCALIZED. Tales of Graces f I feel like this game will be on my list here forever, haha. Completion playthrough (although we missed a skit so we might have to play through again just to walk from Oul Raye to Sable Izolle and pass over a save point at a specific point in the game for 100% >_
I dunno. Maybe it's like Journey and how that was underwhelming. Don't listen to the Internet XD For me... still Pushmo. Almost done A Link to the Past. I've moved onto Donkey Kong Land III after Country 3 glitched out on me. Somehow I seem to like this 8bit version more than 16bit one. Just tighter controls.
Double post, but oh well. I'm now working on... The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, Donkey Kong Country Returns (never actually beat this before), and Assassin's Creed III
I'm working on several games at the moment. Pokémon HeartGold - Right now I'm at the Vermillion Gym. Haven't fought anyone in it yet, though. Pokémon White - Just got to Castelia City. Dust: An Elysian Tail - Slowly trudging through this game a second time. It's just as fun as I remember it being, I still love the gameplay and visuals. I just can't seem to stay focused on it for very long, though.
